THE PROJECT
focuses on crucial aspects of mental health by identifying and mapping
common issues and symptoms among young athletes.
TEAM aims to conduct evidence-based research on mental health challenges and well-being in youth football.
OUR
IMPACT
The TEAM project is expected to spark a long-term cultural shift in how mental health is approached within youth football environments. By targeting athletes, coaches, families, and football organizations, TEAM promotes a more supportive and open sporting culture, where mental well-being is considered just as important as physical fitness. This change in mindset will contribute to healthier developmental pathways for young players across Europe.
Beyond football, TEAM’s model can inspire similar approaches in other youth sports and educational settings. The project’s tools and insights are designed to be transferable and scalable, offering a foundation for broader conversations around mental health and stigma in youth development. By creating materials grounded in real-world data and community engagement, TEAM lays the groundwork for sustainable change across sectors.
